About us:

Founded in 1973, Our society's objectives reflect our mission of promoting resources and education for veterinary hospital pharmacists.

  • To enhance the exchange of educational materials and ideas among veterinary hospital pharmacists. 

  • To sponsor and conduct workshops, symposia, or other scientific and educational meetings in veterinary hospital pharmacy. 

  • To encourage publication in professional journals. Such articles will enhance the knowledge and importance of its membership to veterinary medicine and pharmacy.

  • To encourage the introduction of, the continuation of, and/or the further advancement of veterinary pharmacy by the colleges or schools of pharmacy and veterinary medicine. 

  • To promote research in veterinary and pharmacy practices and in the pharmaceutical services in general. 

  • To promote the rational use of pharmaceuticals and biologicals in the treatment of animal diseases. 

  • To organize committees of expertise to make recommendations which will encourage the growth and acceptance of veterinary hospital pharmacy.

SVHP Officers

The Council shall consist of the Officers of the Society and one Fellow. The Council is responsible for the general management and business of the Society.

The officers of the SVHP shall be a President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Recording Secretary and Immediate Past President. The President-elect shall be elected biennially for a term of two years and shall ascend successively to the office of President and Immediate Past President, serving two years in each position. The Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and Member at Large shall be elected biennially.
